The One Habit Most Business Owners Acquire, And…

Build Their Own Prison, Serving a Lifetime Sentence With No Escape Plan...

3-minute read

Habits shape us.

Sometimes it's harder for us to realize our own habits because they run on autopilot.

The one I am going to talk about it creates an "office prison".

I call it:

"The BUSY HABIT"

The reason I call it "the busy habit" it's because its job is...

JUST to keep you busy for the sake of being busy!

Rarely there is an important reason to support your extra "busyness".

The process:

The business owner thinks "what I am going to do now", which leads to a quick decision of a low importance task and then, action.

My question…

Why do you need to be busy all the time?

Well, being busy validates 2 magic words, and those are, "hard work"!

Yeah, do they sound familiar? I guess so...

Let me remind you of what you have been told:

"You need to work hard in order to make a lot of money."

"You need to work hard in order to be successful in [X], [Y], [Z]"

"You need to work hard in order to achieve the goal."

"You need to work hard in order to grow your business."

"You need to work hard in order to keep your clients happy."

Blah, blah, blah...

We hear the phrase so many times that is linked to our subconscious mind as the only thing required for success.

And therefore we are in the office and out of nowhere, we find something to keep ourselves busy.

Let me repeat, just for the sake of being busy.

The funny part?

Most people I know keep themselves busy with minor things because they don't know how to handle the major ones.

They are also afraid to ask for help because "ego" comes their way.

Others, prefer to be busy 12 & 14 hours a day so they can prove to somebody else they work harder than them.

Amigo, no problem with that! But...

Let me remind you of something.

Right now, you are paying with a currency you can't reprint, and that currency is your time.

Think about it!

Do you want my opinion? Simple.

Question your daily tasks!

Is this a task of high importance? Am I the only person who can do it?

Can I delegate the task to somebody else?

If I do the task, what is the ratio between time/money? Does it worth it?

Do I prefer to spend 3 more hours here doing this or I would rather be with the people I love and create memories?

Work smart!

There is a job that must be done each day. I totally agree with that.

Nobody said you are the one (or the only one) who has to do it.

Use leverage, and use it wisely!

Enjoy your life because you can't bring yesterday back, but you can create a better yesterday from today.

After all, there is no point in being the richest man in the graveyard.

There is no applause down there.

Buy your daily tasks with a cheap currency, save the expensive one for you! Work smart.

To your success,

Alex.
